Established as a corporation in July of 2003, Absolute Art & Design was founded by owner/entrepreneur Matt Shuman. With hopes of becoming the first full color printing company in the mid ohio valley, Matt started researching the latest technologies in the printing industry, early in 2002. He stumbled upon the unique process of Dye Sublimation printing. Being a new process at the time, Matt tried to get the screen printing company he worked for to "pioneer" into the dye sub field, but they were not having it. Knowing at the time that this process printing was going to be the wave of the future, Matt decided to try to find some investors to invest in this new technology. After about three months of searching and getting burned by an investor, he finally came across a bank that gave him a personal business loan to establish what is now know as Absolute Art & Design.

In the early beginning months of the business, we primarily focused on the photo printing process. We would print photos on t-shirts, mouse pads, license plates, tile murals, etc. After working for a sign company part time, Matt decided that a vinyl cutter was an absolute need for the business. Being able to print photo quality products and offer signs and banners was opening new doors for Matt. Pretty soon, he was being known as the sign man to go to for your business. 

Realizing that full color process printing is the wave of the future, Matt decided to invest in a wide format solvent printer. This opened the door for new opportunities and Matt started offering wide format signs, banners, vehicle graphics, and wraps. After the purchase of the wide format printer, Matt decided that a laminator was a necessity for the business to keep the graphics durable and looking great over time.
