As of August 2005, I have officially started designing web sites full time; and by full time I mean 40 hours of my 70 hour work week. What can I say I love what I do. I have designed all kinds of websites from basic html to fully loaded content management systems and care-free e-commerce sites. I can even design you an site that you can update with any knowledge of any type of programming. If you know how to "get by" with Microsoft Word, then you can update your own site. I have been designing websites part time since 1998. I have learned a lot about web design since the late 1990s including HTML, DHTML, XHTML, CSS, Flash, PHP, MYSQL, Javascript and of course design itself to name a few. I can also optimize your web site for search engine placement. I cannot guarantee you a top 3 placement in google, but I can get you into a lot of other good search engines with a good placement.

Google is a very competitive search engine when it comes to advertisers, and they will pay big bucks to stay on top. Now don't get me wrong, if you have a $4,000 - $10,000 advertising budget every month, then you should definitely look into google's advertising programs. But if you are like the rest of us, a $50 monthly budget seems a little more realistic, especially if you are new into the programs. New websites could take anywhere from 3 - 12 months to get picked up by the top 15 search engines. Fifty dollars a month gets expensive when you don't see any "legit" online sales for 8 months. When search engine optimization was at its peak, prices were at their peak also. I paid a SEO company $900 down and $94.00 a month for 6 months without seeing a paying online customer. About a month and a half after I finally cancelled my contract, I started getting calls from orders coming through my website. Funny how things work out like that, huh? Now granted, all of my sales were coming from the far west coast, but that is what shipping is for. The only reason that I could come up with is that my seo company was from Seattle, WA. Since then I have been doing my own research on search engine optimization you would be surprised that how some of the simplest changes can really help your placement in search engines.
